SMACKSOCIAL, INC.
PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: March 25, 2024

Thank you for choosing SmackSocial, Inc., ("we," "us," or "our") to discover offline events. We understand the importance of privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our social coordination mobile app, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). We may update and make changes to this policy at any time, so we encourage you to review it periodically.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect and process the following information about you:

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, birthdate, email address, phone number, and username. Your name and username are used for helping others identify you within the app to interconnect. Your birthdate, email, and phone number are used to verify your identity and prevent misuse of the app by bots or predators. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive texts if you’ve missed an event invite or announcement from a friend/organization you’ve chosen to connect with. All text invites and alerts include explicit and simple instructions to opt out.

  • Contacts Information: You will be asked to permit SmackSocial to read your phone contacts - this makes the app more useful but it is possible to use the app without granting this permission. As you add phone contacts to Friend-Lists, the phone numbers are collected as number sequences with no other identifiable information. These phone numbers are not shared with third parties and are only used to invite people you specify to events (“Drifts”) via text because they don’t have a SmackSocial app account. Users invited to events by friends via cloud message are notified who invited them and are given explicit and simple instructions to opt out. When a user instructs SmackSocial to send such messages to others, they represent and warrant to us that each person they have instructed us to message consent to receive such messages and any other related administrative text messages from SmackSocial.

  • Profile Information: You have the option to provide additional information, such as your profile picture, bio, interests, and location.

  • Event-related Information: When you interact with events, RSVP, or create events, we collect information related to those activities, such as event preferences, attendance, and event details.

  • Communication Data: We may collect data when you communicate with other users or us, including messages, posts, comments, and other content shared within the Services.

  • Usage Data: We automatically collect certain information about how you use our Services, including your IP address, device information, browser type, and operating system. While you use our services, we may collect, with your prior permission, information regarding your location, information from your device’s contacts list, or pictures and other information from your device’s camera and photo library. You can enable or disable access to this information at any time through your device settings.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing and Improving Services: To deliver and maintain our Services, personalize your experience, and enhance our features and functionality.

  • Communication: To communicate with you about your account, respond to your inquiries, and send you service-related notifications.

  • Event Recommendations: To suggest relevant friends, organizations, businesses, or public events based on your preferences and interests.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of these emails or by contacting us directly.

  • Other Companies: We may share your information with other companies if we sell or transfer our business or assets. We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.
